Join us in making a difference: How you can help!

Your involvement can make a lasting impact in our community! Ways to help:
  • Volunteer: We are always looking for dedicated volunteers who can assist with our various project. We also can accommodate high school students who are looking to fulfill volunteer hours with various tasks to help our organization.
  • Financial Donations: Any donation, big or small, can change lives in our very own community. We will gladly provide a receipt for your donation to our 501c3 organization. We accept donations via cash and check (payable to Danny's Helping Hands).

  • Adopt a Family for Christmas: Sponsors are given "wish lists" created by family members for children (infant through age 18). Sponsors can be individuals, companies or organizations.
  • ​Donate Gift Cards: Donations of gift cards can assist us in helping families who have very specific food or other needs.
  • Donate Goods: See the information below.
​Note: For ANY food or hygiene donations, we kindly ask that you refrain from donating any EXPIRED items.

Donating Goods

We accept new and very gently used clothing and shoes for men, women and children for our Clothing Room. All sizes are welcome. In the cold weather months, warm outerwear is especially helpful, including children's snow pants, warm gloves, hats, scarves and boots.

We also accept new toiletries. 

Toiletries Needed:
  • Shampoo, Conditioner
  • Body Wash
  • Bar Soap
  • Deodorant (men's and women's)
  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss
  • Razors and shaving cream
  • Feminine hygiene products (pads, liners and tampons)
  • Diapers
  • Baby Wipes​

Items we do not accept:
  • Used undergarments (bras, underwear)
  • Used pajamas
  • Clothing that is not in good condition (stained, ripped, torn)
  • ​Expired food or toiletries​
Support our Blessing Box​
Our Blessing Box is located in the parking lot of our St. Nicodemus location. Neighbors can give or take items as needed. Individuals, businesses or organizations can assist with sponsoring the box for a month (or more!). Choose from one of these options:
  • Monetary donation (you send an amount to us, and we will purchase the items)
  • Collect food and stock the box during the month you choose (volunteers stock the box)
  • Collect food and drop off to us and we will fill the box during the month you've chosen​

Become a Blessing Bags Program Sponsor
In partnership with the Elma United Methodist Church, our Blessing Bags program serves individuals identified within our local communities with urgent food needs. A limited number of families can sign up for this program where they are given groceries once a month for a three month period. The groceries include items to make several meals, including perishable items. How you can help:
  • Hold a food drive in your office, church or organization for specific items we collect for our Blessing Bags 
  • Donate money to help us purchase the items for the Blessing Bags

Thanksgiving Meals
We welcome individuals, businesses or organizations to donate frozen turkeys, or non perishable food items for our Thanksgiving Meals program; this includes hosting food drives.
School Supplies
We collect popular items requested by our families to fulfill the school supply lists from our locals schools. Individuals, businesses or organizations are welcome to donate items, or host a school supply drive if desired. 

"Ready, Set, Learn: Fill a Backpack" - we welcome your company, organization or business to sponsor a "Fill a Backpack" school supply drive. We are happy to provide a list/flyer for you with information on our most requested items from the local school supply lists.

School supplies are usually distributed in early August, but we welcome donations at any time.

We are grateful for the incredible support from the community to help others! Here are some ways others have made a difference: 
  • Coat Drives
  • Warm Weather Gear Drives
  • Food Drives: specific to our needs (canned goods, turkeys)
  • Gift Card Drive: collections of gift cards from specific stores we've identified to best serve our families
  • Adopt a Family: adopting a family at the holidays through your organization or business
  • Hygiene Drive: collecting hygiene items as an organization or business
We've even had families forgo exchanging holiday gifts together and they purchase items towards one of these programs! Please contact us if you have an idea you'd like to execute within your company or organization.
